I argued with my 13 year old daughter yesterday. I was frightened buy the amount of people that would be out and about because of the holiday weekend. And that the rivers are very decieving. I let her go anyways but I was very scared. I am so sorry for the family and friends this has happened too. My prayers are with you!

My guess is this: most of the people that complain about the "stupid" law in Oregon about fireworks are males that haven't quite grown up yet. Am I correct?

alicynx - 7/1/2009----------I have 2 children now 23 and 26. They never acted like this...NEVER. Raise your children or grand children correctly and you don't have to go through this drama. "NO ONE is in control of a three year old" and "either my son sits the way he prefers to, or he will scream the entire way home" They are 3, be a parent. You are in charge. If you can't handle them now god help the public later. Your spoiled little one will grow up to "act out" against anyone that say's no. Good luck with your future little criminal that we will have to support in prison.

Last I checked, handguns don't fire a hundred balls of fire into the sky, raining flaming debris onto rooftops and yards already brittle as a tinderbox with 90 degree weather, and drive peoples' pets apesh** to the point where they are running for their lives. I am less worried about some nut pulling a concealed handgun on me than I am about my moron neighbor catching my house, or anyone's house, on fire and endangering them and their home. Do you really exert so much control over wind and fire that you are certain your enjoyment of loud sparks in the sky poses no danger to your neighbor? To your own family? Do you really think that the 'idiots' and 'irresponsible people' are only a danger to themselves, and that their carelessness will not affect everyone around them? This is the same rationale drunks use when they climb behind the wheel. There are better ways to celebrate our independence and have a barbeque with friends than blowing things up, making a ton of noise, and generally being obnoxious on the level of an 8 year old with a box of matches. Leave the pyrotechnics to the pros, enjoy the Fort Vancouver fireworks display, the National Guard flyovers, and enjoy some beers and burgers with family and friends, but don't for a second assume that your freedom is being encroached because the state government wants to mitigate the damage done by fireworks.

I was one of the men who pulled this person from the water and helped administer CPR until EMS arrived. Does anyone know the status of this pt? J

I was thinking wouldn't it be nice if a reporter would come out with a camera and make a report of what happens on a bus. And I really think it should be a 72 on 82nd ave.
