Kacey was born in Orange County, California but moved to Dallas, TX when she was eight years old where she spent the next ten years. Thats where she acquired her love of steak and fries! But, she just couldn't stay away from California....so she headed back to SoCal for college.
She attended Cal State University Northridge where she graduated with a major in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in Sociology. Kacey wasn't a fan of the college nightlife...instead she hit the books. She earned many awards in college including 1st place for TV In-depth reporting from the Society of Professional Journalists for her talk show on Political Free Speech.
Kacey interned at CNN in Los Angeles in the Entertainment News Division where she spent most of her time behind the scenes on the red carpet at movie premieres and award show learning the ropes. She got her big break in a place where she never thought she would ever visit, much less call home...Wild and Wonderful West Virginia!
Kacey spent a year in Oak Hill, WV at the ABC affiliate as the morning and noon anchor and the health reporter. Then back to sunny SoCal to work at KPSP, the CBS affiliate in Palm Springs where she was the morning co-anchor. She was very active with the Humane Society of the Desert and helped raise over $50,000 for the Orphan Pet Oasis. She earned an Emmy Award for her morning show's coverage the day of Pres Gerald Ford's funeral and an Emmy nomination for her live coverage of the funeral.
In her free time she enjoys talking politics with her Dad, spending time with her family and her teacup chihuahua Bella. And she is always either listening to, watching, or reading something that has to do with the news!!
