During a broadcasting career that now spans five decades, Mike Donahue has covered seven governors. He started at KOIN-TV as an intern having just graduated from the University of Oregon where he earned a degree in journalism and selection to Phi Beta Kappa. Active in campus government, Mike was elected Freshman Class President, ASUO Senator and Student Body Vice President.

At Albany High School, where Mike worked on the school newspaper and yearbook, he first fell in love with reporting. That passion has taken him on assignments to Asia, Africa, Europe and to the Middle East. He will tell you those trips pale in comparison to his coverage of the eruption of Mt. St. Helens in 1980, the biggest event of his career.

In 2000, the regional Emmy Awards in Seattle gave Mike the Silver Circle Award for lifetime achievement award. Most recipients are retired. Mike is still working.
