Krystal is a 12-year-old girl looking for an adoptive home. She wants to be a singer or a poet when she grows up.

She wrote this poem about when she became a foster child:

At 7-1/2 I was ripped away from my mother's hands, these people came and took me away to a stranger, I stepped into the doorway, quiet as a mouse, scared to even move, my mouth was dry as the desert, my eyes were watery as a leaf in the rain, my body stiff as a tree, my heart dropped like a tear from an eye, my feelings a dark lake bottled inside, my teeth clenched tighter than the knot in my shoelace.
