Child Abuse Prevention
In the time it takes you to read this page, dozens of children will be abused nationwide. More than 70,000 kids were reported abused in Oregon last year alone – and thousands more aren’t getting help, because no one is speaking up for them.

For the third consecutive year, KOIN Local 6 is partnering with Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office on the “It’s Ok to Tell” campaign to end child abuse. During Child Abuse Prevention Month, KOIN Local 6 News is presenting special stories giving you a glimpse behind the scenes in the fight against child abuse. You’ll meet some of the people who are working diligently to protect abused children, and those who speak up.

If you or someone you know is being hurt, It’s Ok to Tell. On this page, you’ll find links to dozens of organizations that can help. Or call the 24-hour child abuse hotline for the state of Oregon, at 503-731-3100.

Look for copies of “The Bubble Book” coloring book in local Safeway stores while they last. This educational and fun coloring book is a collaboration between KOIN Local 6, Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office, and the Children’s Center of Clackamas County.

Thank you to our sponsors: Metropolitan Pediatrics and Safeway, for your support of this important program.
