Dr. Jimmy D. Huebert is board certified by the American College of Internal Medicine with subspecialty fellowship training in sports medicine. He was born in Seoul, South Korea, and grew up on a farm in Nebraska with his six siblings where he was very active in rodeo, martial arts, and a variety of other sports. He attended Kearney State College on an athletic scholarship where he played football and basketball, before going to medical school.
Because of his past experiences and continued interest in sports and sports injuries during his residency, he completed a fellowship in Sports Medicine at the University of Maryland. During his fellowship, he served as a team physician for the Superbowl champion Baltimore Ravens, Baltimore Orioles, University of Maryland Terrapins, University of Maryland Baltimore County, Coppin State University, Major League Lacrosse team Baltimore Bayhawks, and various Baltimore area high schools.
He moved to the Portland area in the fall of 2001. He currently has a full time solo Sports and Spine practice in Tualatin, Oregon. He has served as a team physician for the Portland Beavers and Portland Timbers. He is currently the team physician for Clackamas Community College and Tualatin High School. He also volunteers his time as an Adjunct Clinical Professor for OHSU School of Medicine's Family Medicine and Physician Assistant programs, and the Family Medicine program at Providence Milwaukie Hospital. He also volunteers his time at various local events such as the Dew Action Sports Tour, Portland Marathon, Cirque Du Soleil, US Figure Skating Championships, various area high schools - and gives lectures on sports related subjects to community groups, medical students, residents, physical therapists, and other physicians.
He is married with two children, and is involved in their little league and junior golf programs. He enjoys attending various sporting events, golfing, snow sports, and the great outdoors. He still enjoys going back to Nebraska to see family and his beloved Nebraska Cornhusker football team as often as he can.
