Shopping for winter clothes for her big trip back east, Portland’s Storm Large tells KOIN Local 6, she’s excited for her adventure.

Large—who’s best known outside of Portland as a rocker on the CBS reality show “Rockstar: Supernova”—is trying to get a piece of the New York theater scene. Large’s revealing and emotion-charged one-woman show called “Crazy Enough” (that was extended through much of the summer at the Portland Center Stage) could be going on the road in a very Big Apple way.

“Crazy Enough” is an autobiographical story about her own journey dealing with family issues, drugs and rock and roll. Musical pieces unfold during the dramatic and humorous show to accent what many critics have called riveting performance on stage.

The 40-yearold Large is also known on the Portland live music circuit. She often performs lead vocals with her group “The Balls.”

The show is going to be performed at a small venue called Joe’s Pub on New York’s lower east side of Manhattan (in the East Village) in early December.

“It’s mostly for producers,” said Large over the phone about the upcoming event. “We’re not really talking to anybody about it. We’ll come back in January and hopefully have something to announce.”

You can catch another piece of this rising star before she heads to New York. She’s performing in SE Portland at the intimate Aladdin Theatre Thanksgiving Weekend. The show is called “Storm’s Holiday Ordeal.”
