        At a time when scams and rip-offs seem to run rampant, finally some bright news: The Better Business Bureau says more people are protecting themselves by doing a little research ahead of time.

        The BBB says it's seen a 214 percent increase in online traffic this year. The reports are easy to view and open to the public. A quick online search with the Better Business Bureau tells you if the business you're dealing with has a bad rating with the BBB or complaints against it.
