The Portland Timbers used a bit of good fortune to end a three-game winless streak on Sunday as an own goal from the Chicago Fire's Logan Pause was the difference in a 2-1 Timbers victory at Jeld-Wen Field.

Portland saw its winless streak extended to three games.

Bright Dike played in 11 matches for the Timbers last season after missing the first five months because of an Achilles injury.

Forward Kenny Cooper had eight goals in 34 games for the Portland Timbers last year.

Portland has lost five of its last six.

The Portland Timbers will need to continue their strong defensive play on Sunday if they wish to pick up some much-needed points as the club will look to slow down a surging Chicago Fire side at Jeld- Wen Field.

The victory snapped a four-game losing streak for Portland.

The 6,000 square foot building includes a turf field for public use.

The loss dropped Portland to 1-3-1 on the season.
