Welcome to WeatherKids

Hi Kids!

Welcome to YOUR very own weather page on koinlocal6.com! I still remember when I was 10-years-old, and I went to visit my cousin, who was a meteorologist who gave the weather on TV. He showed me that anyone who was willing to work for it could do the same thing he did.

So whether you love weather like I do, or you’re just trying to find help for a class assignment, you’ve come to the right place. In fact, if you’ve got questions, then I’ve got answers. Just click right here to email me and I’ll let you know when your answer is posted back on this page.

And while you’re here, be sure to check out our exclusive Weather Bug Network. We’re at dozens of schools in Oregon and Washington, from Vancouver to Bend. But wait a minute. What is a Weather Bug, anyway? Well, it’s hardware. A kind of computer that tracks everything about the weather every second and sends the live information to Koin Local 6 News and here to koinlocal6.com.

Many of those weather bugs also have cameras so you can run a time lapse right at your computer. Or you can check out cameras or pictures from across the country.

Also, we’re the home of Weather Kids. These are students just like you who modeled for our cameras and appear everyday on Koin Local 6 at 11pm and on Koin Local 6 Early which airs everymorning from 5am to 7am just before school.

And remember, if you get a shot of something cool that’s weather-related, send it on over to weather@koin.com

Thanks again for visiting and have a good one!
