Our furry friend saw his shadow this morning: six more weeks of winter, but I've got some problems with this prognostication, I'm Meteorologist Matt Brode with the details.

High pressure is setting up shop across the region and we are basking in full sunshine with temperatures already in the 50s in many spots. East winds should keep us clear all the way through the weekend with highs near 50 each day. If you're looking for the warmest weather, some of it can be found right at the Oregon coast! It's a great weekend to head to the beaches or perhaps a ski trip to the mountains.

Overnight lows will be chilly - flirting with freezing temperatures in many of the cooler spots. Central valley locales will see more fog than the metro.

Happy groundhog day!
Matt Brode
