The Overview

Wednesday starts either foggy and cold, sunny and cold or breezy and not quite as cold. Basically, take what happened to you on Tuesday and expect a near repeat! Except – temperatures climb into the 60s lots of places. It’s going to be a great day, especially as east winds ease.

Rain develops on Thursday – then it looks wet for awhile! Later Thursday we face some heavy rain and should see gusty winds in the valley up to 25mph – with gusts to 55 or so along the Oregon Coast.

Snow level: 9,000 feet on Thursday, 4,000 feet on Friday (mountain pass level) and 3,000 feet on Friday – snowing below the passes.

The Wednesday details now:

Coast: Patchy fog, otherwise, mostly sunny with a NE breeze. Highs: 60-64.

I-5 Corridor/Willamette Valley: Cold start, again. Patchy fog, otherwise, mostly sunny. Gusty east winds early (in the typical spots) decreasing during the day. Highs: 60-65.

Gorge: Patchy fog central, clear and breezy, west end. East winds around Cascade Locks will begin decreasing during the morning.  Highs: 57-62.

Cascades: Mostly sunny. The freezing level climbs to around 12,000 feet in the afternoon. Highs: 45-55.

Central/Eastern Oregon: Another sunny day is on the way. But a few of the calm valley locations are likely to see fog and in some cases it could be kind of stubborn. But overall, it’s sun. Expect another cold start, a mild finish in the 50s and 60s. I say, let’s just keep this going! Highs: 56-62.
