Woman found in Little Washougal River accidentally drowned, autospy confirms

A 42-year-old woman whose body was found in the Little Washougal River Monday morning accidentally drowned, an autopsy confirmed Tuesday.

Steve Shea, spokesperson for the Clark County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO), reported the body was spotted by a property owner Monday morning on a rock in the middle of the river, along the 200 block of Northeast Blair Road, about two miles from the city of Washougal.

The woman’s name has not been released, pending family notification, CCSO said.

The autopsy was conducted by the Clark County Medical Examiner’s Office.
