PORTLAND, Ore. - The Cardinal Cheer Club announced today that all cheerleading activities have been suspended at the High School.  Varsity Coaches Cher Fuller and Tori Cotton have resigned their positions.

The statement says the coaches were unable to comply with Principal Peyton Chapman's demand that an athlete be reinstated to the LHS Cardinal Cheer Team.

All of the Cheerleaders are required to sign a code of conduct to participate in cheer. The Cheer Advisory chair says that code of conduct was repeatedly violated by one cheerleader. The coaches removed the student from cheer squad but Principal Chapman demanded she be brought back.  The coaches quit, instead.

Lincoln High School takes on the Roosevelt Rough-Riders tomorrow.

The cheerleaders say they won't be in the field but they will likely be in the stands silently protesting.
