A Portland man charged with 11 counts of sex abuse in a Newberg Craigslist sex ring recently approached others about killing a girl he is suspected of abusing.
Robert Dwain Thompson, 35, faces charges of using a child in a display of sexually explicit conduct (three counts); rape in the third degree (three counts); and sexual abuse in the second degree (five counts). The charges stem from a 2009 Craigslist sex ring involving Darrin Daily, Patricio Moreno, David Garcia and Alisa Nice.
Lisl Miller, prosecuting the case for the Yamhill County District Attorney's Office, said the witness is the same teen girl who Thomspon abused in the sex ring.
Daily posted advertisements to Craigslist in early 2009 soliciting other adults to engage in sexual activity with a 14-year-old girl. The girl was also forced to have intercourse with a dog and was tied up on some occasions, according to Newberg-Dundee Police.
One of the men who responded to the online posting was Thompson, who participated in sexual acts with the girl.
Over one year later, police now believe Thompson approached others about possibly killing the teen girl.
When asked whether solicitation charges may come against Daily--the other three suspects pleaded out--Miller said: "I can't answer that. I can tell you he (Thomspon) is the only one that's been charged."
Seven counts affiliated with Thompson's new charges include: Solicitation to commit aggravated murder (four counts); solicitation to commit murder (two counts); and solicitation to commit arson in the first degree.
