Molotov cocktail thrown at Portland's World Trade Center

Portland police think an Occupy Portland demonstrator threw a Molotov cocktail at the World Trade Center building in downtown Portland Tuesday night.

No one was there when it happened but police are now warning that more violence could be coming.

Portland police got the call just after 9 p.m. Tuesday night that someone had thrown the explosive device at the building at 121 SW Salmon St.

Arson investigators are trying to find out who did it and why.

Last Monday, police received unconfirmed information that someone within the Occupy Portland camps may be making Molotov cocktails.

Investigators are working to learn more about it and are asking for the public's help. Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest in the case.

it's not like our Trade Center building is worth saving. maybe the urban commentary is that the building is just darn ugly and needs to come down! could be part of a beautify Portland plan. we have some pretty ugly architecture that needs to come down.

Before this gets any worse, get Fire Dist. #1 to hose them (along with Sam Adams) into the Willamette River, and they can feed off the Corn Flounder"...enough already......

kbkazoo, Let me guess your a "CAMPER?" well you know that you are breaking the law just by camping in the park and staying in the park after 10PM. So you are a criminal and should be arrested and tossed in jail and forced to work hard labor to repay the city for your crimes.

I hate to say it guys but this is looking all too convenient...Looks more like anti-occupiers are doing all they can to infuriate the city...It would be so easy to carry out something like that.

Thats because they r ALL dirty lazy bums and our dead beat mayor needs to pull his head out his ... and make them leave. This is the USA. We have rich and poor, if u dont like it go over seas.

Really you have to ask why this is blamed on the occupy movement? Thats not exactly something that occurs daily and in the story they said it was rumored these were being made in the camp. What does police wrong doing have to do with this?

wait a minute. that is too easy. the occupy movement is now being blamed for everything that happens! what makes police believe it was the occupy camp? because it brings public pressure to break up a civil demonstration and takes focus off of any police wrong doing here or elsewhere in the city.

The OLCC is investigating due to the rumor that the perpetrator may have been under the age of 21.
