Help for Japan is on the way from Oregon as a group from Medical Teams International prepares to head there.

Inside the Tigard building Medical Teams International is packing up and shipping out supplies to help in Japan. They also just deployed a firefighter and two medics to help organize the rescue efforts in northern Japan.

President of medical teams international, Bas Vanderzalm, has been in Japan for a week. He's also helping organize much-needed help in the devastated country. Vanderzalm flies back to portland Wednesday morning to report on what else can be done to help.

Meanwhile, the three volunteers who just left will be setting up an incident command system. They will be training Japanese volunteers in three of the hardest hit areas in northern Japan.
