The Cleveland Browns have fired general
manager George Kokinis, the club announced Monday.
The Cleveland Plain Dealer reported that Kokinis, who was in his first year as
the Browns GM, was escorted out of the Browns facility in Berea by security
Monday. However, the Browns organization denied those reports in a statement
Monday night.
Also in the statement, the club made note that Kokinis is no longer actively
involved with the organization.
Cleveland has struggled to a 1-7 start this season under new head coach Eric
Mangini. The Browns, who are coming off a 30-6 loss to the Bears on Sunday,
have a bye this upcoming weekend.
